Coolkelure Farm

About Us

What an adventure!

When we started on our project to help Mother Nature and become self sufficient, we knew it was going to be an interesting journey, but we could never have predicted all of the amazing experience we have had along the way.

My name is Sonia Viridiana, and me and my husband John are the fifth generation living in this farm house and working the land. John was born and reared lambing sheep, fencing, cutting grass with his dad and mum.  John now runs his own plastering business but his heart was always in the land and trees that surrounded this farm.

I grew up in an entrepreneurial and business environment with parents who owned the local shop in their area, a butcher shop and catering business which is why I’m a saleswoman and very social individual.

Our ethos here at Coolkelure is built on sustainability(meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations) , permaculture and regenerative agriculture, following organic principles too. We produce fresh, local, healthy food, farmed with love and passion for nature. We are a young family working the land and hoping to make a living out of it.

The more important thing for us now is family time. Spending time with our kids while working and learning together. Farming gives us a great opportunity to be together, create conversation, and explain the hard to comprehend things in the simple way animals and nature can teach us; life and death, the patience in planting a seed and watching it grow into a plant.

The TIME we spend together is what I love most about homesteading.
