Coolkelure Farm

CSA

WHAT IS A CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a growing trend in farming areas all around the world. It is basically a vegetable box scheme, but rather than paying week by week for the box of super fresh, locally grown goodies, you pay in advance. This is a huge help for the farmer, as they can plan the season in advance with the boxes in mind. CSA’s are often called shares, as you’re purchasing a ‘share’ in the season’s farming.

Here at Collekelure, our CSA runs for 20 weeks and boxes cost €25. So you pay €500 upfront (split payment options are also available) but there are no further payments (unless you want to add additional products) and can sit back, relax and enjoy almost six months of fresh, organically grown vegetables. For 2022 our scheme will run from the week starting June 1st until the week of October 12th.

Advantages for you:

  • Eat ultra-fresh food, with all the flavour and vitamin benefits
  • Get exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking
  • Get to visit the farm each week and see how the crops are progressing before they are harvested
  • Kids absolutely LOVE food from “their” farm – even veggies they’ve never been known to eat
  • Develop a relationship with the farmer who grows your food and learn more about how food is grown

If you want to support us and eat sustainably grown produce, then a CSA can be a great option.

Our CSA vegetable box scheme is available from our farm near Dunmanway, West Cork. Only purchase a share if you’re able to pick up from this location as boxes are not shipped.

COOLKELURE FARM’S CSA

Our CSA is stocked with goodies grown on our farm in West Cork. We practice regenerative agriculture – a method of improving the health of the soil and the surrounding environment. No chemicals are used anywhere on our farm and wildlife is welcomed. By caring for the land and growing in a non-invasive way, it means the food we grow tastes exactly as nature intended it to – fresh and full of flavour.

  • Weekly boxes are stocked with SEASONAL veg. This means you’ll receive only what we grow on the farm, and this changes week to week. We don’t buy in any substitutes which means you’ll get to enjoy a variety of West Cork-grown vegetables. These include but are not limited to: kale, tomatoes, squash, lettuce, spinach, radishes, cucumbers, herbs, beans and more.
  • Boxes are NOT delivered. They’re packed and stored on the farm and you will have a collection day to stop by and collect. This means you have the unique opportunity to see the farm, have a chat and be included in the farming community.
  • Box contents will vary, with eggs and goat’s milk sometimes included as part of the package.
  • CSA members will get the opportunity to join future farm events. We also plan to launch farm tours and talks, and these will also be offered to members first.

LIMITED AVAILABILITY – THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SHARES ON OUR SCHEME. THEY ARE OFFERED ON A FIRST COME FIRST BASIS AND DUE TO THE CSA MODEL, WE CANNOT ADD ADDITIONAL SHARES LATER ON.
